Great Bend children in grades K-8 can see their works of art on display this month at the Barton County Historical Society. The annual Watching Young Artists Grow exhibit features selected drawings, paintings, clay sculptures and ceramics created under the guidance of art instructors Melissa Watson, Shannon Wedel and Alyssa Bliven. The exhibit is sponsored by the Barton County Arts Council and the Barton County Historical Society.
A reception for these budding artists will be held Sunday, April 23, from 2-4 p.m. The Barton County Historical Society Museum and Village is located at 85 South U.S. 281, just south of the Arkansas River bridge in Great Bend. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
